If you are thinking to buy riding pants first thing is to think of which material pants you are looking for:

Leather

Synthetic Texture

Denim



Leather pants are soft and comfortable and last long. It gives maximum protection in case of any mishap and there also possibility that damaged leather can be repaired.


But the drawback of leather is it doesn't work as shock absorbent for body parts like Thigh, knee, and hip. In case of an accident. So we must look for products which will give up maximum protection.


Need to wear rain-liners in the Rainy season. And in summer riders feel too hot as pants are not ventilated.



Pants made with materials like Nylon, Polyester, and Kevlar are lighter materials and much more comfortable to wear, and easy to wash.


In cold weather, riders need to wear winter warmers inside the pants.

As synthetic material is not waterproof riders need to wear rain-liners over the pants.

There are a few drawbacks of Nylon and Polyester Pants they are not resistant to abrasion or scratch if the rider faces an accident these clothes will not protect him/her from rough surfaces.

Kevlar fabric is strong, heat resistant, and lightweight fabric.

Things to look For in Riding Pants



Check Zippers are of good quality and long enough and easily accessible. Also covered by flaps.




Riding pants must have easy assemble pockets as it helps to keep belong handle easily even when wearing gloves.




Pants must have larger armour protection in impact areas.




Some companies provide winter and rain liners with the pants but with some brands, riders need to buy them separately.




Pants must have Reflective material on them as at night time its important for rider's safety.
