Google's email service Gmail has become the fourth application ever to hit 10 billion installations. Specifically, the Gmail app for Android ecosystem achieved this milestone, joining the other three most-download apps on Android which are also made by Google - Google Play Services, YouTube, and Google Maps.
The email platform by Google was first rolled out in 2004, when communication over emails was the rave. Since then, it has become one of the most-used email services across the globe.

The milestone by Gmail app was first noticed by Android Police. A lot of factors may be responsible for the rise of Gmail in the recent years including a regular slew of new features that are rolled out to Gmail mobile users.
For starters, its derivative version called Gmail Go has expanded access to low-end phones, reaching a new audience in the process.

Gmail users recently expanded the powers of its "undo send" feature that lets users retract their emails after sending them. Gmail users may set a time-frame between 5-30 seconds to offer undo functionality for all mails. Earlier, the company had a standard 5 second recall window for all emails.
